I am a singer/songwriter. I work with a French composer and we are moving towards a trip hop style. The problem is when we record our music we can layer the tracks – but for playing live we need too many musicians to get all the sounds we need. We now have 6 in the group. So my question is this; Could I use a machine like this on stage and just record the sound effects we need from the keyboard onto it, so I could just press a button to play the different effects when needed.

yo ive been dj’in for a couple of years now and im consider buying a couple of these to give me a better scope for being more imaginative. Does anyone know if It is possible to use two of these with your basic mixer, so one for each channel?
Just brought some of these and I must say much impressed. The build quality looks cheap but it does not feel it, quite solid actually the only let down is the jog wheel feels a bit to lite.

i work 2 nights a week in a nightclub called play 8-12 friday and 11-3 on sataday, big money 2, and i was talking about djs like tiesto paul van dyk eddie halliwell armin…. they dont need 2 work every week or sometimes even monthly they get more money than you or i will ever from djing and your taking the piss out of tiesto when you work in a shity american night club, ibiza forever

we buy our equipment 2 and we actually know how 2 use it, and shows how much you know about djing,if your a top name and say your gna play in a top club like pacha,they have equipment ther because it saves carrying it around the world and setting it up ha stupid boy,you might spend ‘loads of dollars’ but your clearly clueless and well done you have loads of equipment in your garage! its a bit of a waste seein as your fucking shit mate and THE BEST DJS R FROM EUROPE FACT!
how can the best djs be from europe?….they own nothing but their trousers…them “europe” guys sometimes dont even own the turntables theyre playing on..here in america we have insane amounts of dollars in equipment here in our garages. we spend money at the store, not like you guys waiting for the parcel to come. and yes…it is paradise because we OWN OUR OWN equipment. theres 14 RENTAL places for tiestos tour…he doesnt even own a cd player. he might charge a lot but he owns nothing.

here in the usa gemini is the cheapest and utterly most unreliable units in the market…..besides being made of pure plastic they are just so cheap looking. Most djs would not be caught dead playing with a gemini…begginers and guys with very limited budget buy them. the very expensive brands are all the rage here. but design and materials make the gemini looks like a piece of crap. no other equipment company would put huge orange lettering in their product. i personally dont like them.

CDI 500s all the way I know ppl who had lots of problems with the stanton ones…even with vinyl mode, I would still use the CDIs sorry, just my opinion…
what would you recommend the stanton 314 or the american audio cdi 500 im a hip hop head and want to scratch i have notice the 314 have vinyl mode and the cdi 500 dont what would you recommend
I have also bought a couple from deal monger on ebay for $358.00. The are great, awesome cd player for the price.
Nice player, i picked up a couple refurbished ones from deal-monger on Ebay for $439. They work great!

any cdj works with serato as long as u have the hardware that connects the cdj to the computer
it depends in what kind of dj your are if you like to cut n scratch, the qd5 can adjust the curve on the crossfader but if you are more mobil I would get the qd6 is one more channel and you can allways use it to hook up the aptop or ipod thru rca to 1/8th plug. I use the TORQ connective interface and control timecoded cds

I got mine for $150 almost brand new was used for 6 months but unfortunately its not the MP3 version; the one I got has a silver platter and the ones that do play MP3 are black platters like this one, oh well, can’t beat the price.
